Dynamics GP Announced as First Microsoft ERP to Include Intelligent Edge
Microsoft’s Intelligent Edge allows companies with on-premise ERP systems to start using cloud technology, PowerBI, Microsoft Flow, PowerApps, and machine learning - all while maintaining their software on-premise. At Microsoft’s Directions conference for Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 Business Central partners, it was announced that Microsoft Dynamics GP users would have the first opportunity to take advantage of this cutting-edge software as a part of the GP 2018 R2 release, available October 2, 2018.
The Intelligent Edge connects Dynamics GP on-premise to a cloud instance of Business Central. System data is replicated in the Intelligent Cloud and pushed back into Dynamics GP where users can access a dashboard with business insights, reports, and actionable data from the application within the cloud.
Along with giving users valuable insight into their data, the Intelligent Edge also gives users an easier data migration path if they choose to move to Dynamics 365 Business Central in the cloud.
Dynamics GP users can schedule their upgrade to GP 2018 R2 now by contacting Stoneridge Software. Stoneridge will announce availability for on-premise NAV and Business Central clients when Intelligent Edge becomes available. It is anticipated that the exciting features of Intelligent Edge will be available to NAV on-prem clients in Spring 2019.
