50 Tips on Project Management – Convergence

By Eric Newell | March 22, 2013

On Thursday at Convergence, I had the opportunity to present a session entitled 50 Tips in 90 Minutes for Better Project Management.  To my surprise we had a huge audience - 276 people turned out for the session - I was very pleased to have the opportunity to share these tips with so many people.

I had originally presented the material to the Minnesota chapter of the AXUG back in February, but working with Renee Dothard and Colin Silveira from Microsoft Consulting, we had the chance to beef up the material and make it even better.  We got great feedback on the session - my favorite comment was one person who said they were going to take the recording and get everyone on the project team in a room to watch the full 90 minute presentation.  We were very pleased to strike a chord with the audience and I hope we get the chance to do something similar next year as well.

If you'd like to review the slides and the video, you can go out to Virtual Convergence and get access to both.  The best part is Virtual Convergence is free and accessible to anyone who wants to sign up on the site.  The session is part of the Cross Product group and the session number is DDCP02.  If you're working on an implementation now, I highly recommend you take the time to review the deck and session to gain some insights into how best to run the project.

If you ever have any tips that I should incorporate into this training, please drop me a comment to let me know.  We're always looking to improve the content and there are a ton of great stories and horror stories to tell that help us learn how to do it better in the future.
