What Version of AX 2012 am I Using?
Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 has had several different releases in the last 18 months, so it can be confusing what version of the product you may be using. Each of these releases have different cumulative updates that apply or don't apply to the release as well. Let's take a look at how to figure out what version you are using.
In AX, go to the small "Help" icon window on the upper-right side of the screen to get into the Help Menu:
When you go into this screen, you will see the following information, or something like it.
The title on the screen will indicate the main version - AX Feature Pack; but you can also use the Solution build number to translate the release as well.
Thus far there are 3 main releases on AX 2012:
- RTM - build number 6.0.947
- Feature Pack (1) - build number - 6.0.947.862
- CU3 - build number 6.0.1108
- 2012 R2 - build number - 6.2.158.0
