Key Take-Away from the Summit BCUG/NAVUG Keynote
We had an amazing kick-off to Summit 2018 with Keynote speakers Mark Rhodes, NAVUG Program Director, Marko Perisic, General Manager Microsoft Dynamics SMB, and members of both the Dynamics Communities & Microsoft team here in Phoenix, AZ. As I sat in the audience, I felt the collective group of attendees sit on the edge of their seats as Marko and his team demoed Business Central, highlighting the application’s Modern, Unified, Intelligent & Adaptable features.
The truth is, NAV users on versions 4.2 (or older), to those who recently upgraded to NAV 2016 or NAV 2017, or even NAV 2018, have questions:
- What’s Business Central like?
- How will Business Central work for MY COMPANY?
- What would I gain from moving to Business Central?
- How does Business Central integrate with other applications?
- What’s the Intelligent Edge?
As the room heard the Microsoft team walk through the new “fuzzy search”, built in Power BI dashboards, the usability features, and Intelligent Insights, you could see members of the audience feeling their questions were answered. Microsoft clearly has a solid roadmap in place for Dynamics 365 Business Central and companies currently on NAV have a path moving forward.
Following the keynote, Jared Hall from Microsoft stopped by our Booth. (we’re in Booth 300!) It was amazing to talk directly with a Program Manager from Microsoft about the path forward for clients. He really drove home the point that no matter if our clients are currently on Dynamics NAV or Dynamics GP, there is a path to Business Central.
