Microsoft has Released the 4th Platform Update for Dynamics 365 for Operations
Microsoft has released the 4th platform update for Dynamics 365 for Operations: Build Number: 7.0.4425.16161
With platform update 4, Microsoft has moved to a continuous update cycle for Dynamics cloud environments. These means each month updates will be available in Life Cycle Services for the platform models in D365O allowing you to more easily keep your system up to date. The new monthly cadence is possible due to changes contained in platform update 3. In update 3 the following platform models were locked - meaning they cannot be overlayered and must be extended:
- Application Platform
- Application Foundation
- Test Essentials
- Form adaptor models corresponding to these models
To install the latest monthly platform updates in an environment, on http://lcs.dynamics.com, go to the Shared asset library, and select the Software deployable package tab. There, you will see that the platform update 4 package is ready for deployment. You can import this package into the project’s asset library and then apply it to a specific environment through the update flows.
In addition to the monthly availability of updates, there are other changes in the platform 4 update including:
- Embedded Power BI reports are licensed for all users.
- The ability to build and release workspaces with embedded Power BI reports
- An updated mobile framework for iOS and Android devices
- New Gantt chart visualizations and localized formats
