Stoneridge Software Sponsors 5th Annual Barnesville Business Pitch Contest
If you're a fan of Shark Tank, you'll like Spark Your Startup! Entrepreneurs are invited to give their startup idea a jolt with Barnesville’s fourth annual Business Pitch Contest. Stoneridge Software, the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation, DBS, Inc., Midwest Bank, West Central Initiative and the Barnesville Economic Development Authority are sponsoring a Barnesville Business Pitch Contest. In-kind donations provided by Shirts from Fargo, CEO Solutions, Barnesville Main Street and J & J Braton Properties.
Entrants must fill out an online application at stoneridgesoftware.com/businesspitch. Deadline for entries is Friday, Sept. 14. Once applicants are evaluated, the top entries will be picked.
Finalists will present a five-minute pitch in front of a judge’s panel, which includes the entrepreneur sponsors of the contest. Judges will have four minutes to ask questions and then score each entrant. Winners will receive up to a $1,500 cash prize, as well as mentoring hours by sponsors. A people’s choice winner will also be awarded via online voting.
The competition presentations will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Old City Hall council chambers in Barnesville, Minn. Presentations are open to the public.
The startup idea is not required to be located in Barnesville, though a $10,000 forgivable loan is available to the winner, should they choose to locate a business within the city.
