Pathway from Dynamics NAV 2018 to Dynamics 365 Business Central Announced

By Natalie Lemke | January 21, 2019

Current NAV users have been awaiting a migration path to
move data from on-premise Dynamics NAV to Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Microsoft has released a path to the cloud through the Intelligent Cloud that
will be available for Dynamics NAV 2018 users after the April 2019 release.

When migrating from Dynamics NAV to Business Central with the Intelligent Cloud, virtually all on-premise tables and data will be replicated to the Business Central cloud tenant. The only exception is customized tables. If you’re on a version of NAV prior to 2018 you’ll need to upgrade your version to take advantage of the Intelligent Cloud.

Our Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 Business Central team has over a decade of experience assisting clients with upgrades, navigating the path to evaluating and upgrading customizations, historical data and ensuring new functionality is leveraged. We have the experience to assist clients in moving through multiple versions to get upgraded to current technology.

Once you have transitioned to Business Central, you’ll always be on the most updated version of the solution.  Admin users will be contacted by Microsoft to schedule upgrades on a predetermined date. Within the Business Central Admin Center, Admins can reschedule the upgrade for a more opportune date, immediately upgrade the system when a release is issued, and view any errors that may come up during the upgrade.
