Workflow Notification Email not Sending to the Correct Email Account and How to Fix It in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
Recently, Microsoft advised of an issue within Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations with the Workflow Notification email not sending to the correct email account.
The outgoing email message was using the Sender Email value from the user Options record. Typically, the user's email alias would come from their actual User ID.
When using email notifications with workflows in Dynamics 365, the outgoing email message was using the Sender Email value from the user Options record. The expected results should be that the user's email alias would come from their actual User ID.
Microsoft has documented this and provided a fix that will resolve the issue. They also provided an additional option as well, which you can enable the fix within Feature Management.
Once we did that, Workflow is now sending emails as expected. You can find the steps in the picture below:
