Dynamics 365 Business Central Contact Management Part 1: Contacts

by | Updated April 16, 2020 | Dynamics 365 Business Central

Business Central supports two types of Contacts: Company and Person. Contacts can be used as prospects or linked to existing Customers or Vendors. A complete catalog of Contacts is stored in the Contacts List. To access the Contacts List, use the magnifying glass icon to search for Contacts.

Company Contacts are displayed in bold, while related Person Contacts are grouped below in normal text.

Search for a specific Contact by using the search bar at the top of the page. Searches automatically have wild cards applied to the beginning and end of the text provided, and searches are not case sensitive

Filter the Contact list by selecting the drop-down menu on one of the visible columns to expose the filter menu.

When the filter action is selected, a filter menu will open on the left of the page.

To add multiple filters, select + Filter. Remove filters by selecting the “x” next to the filter name.
