How to Customize Axis Labels in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement

By Paul Denwood | May 27, 2025

Did you know you can change chart labels in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) with just one tool?

The built-in designer in CE doesn't allow you to edit labels, meaning you have two options, one risky, and one safe and easy.

The Risky Method:

  • Export the solution containing the chart
  • Manually edit the XML
  • Rezip and re-import the solution

The main issue with this method is that it is prone to human error given its many steps and the complexity of manually tracking everything.

The Safe and Easy Method:

We recommend using the XRM Toolbox's Advanced Chart Editor. It is fast and safe and does not require any XML hacking to get the job done.

Let's take a look at how you can use this tool to edit Axis labels in CE.

What You Need to Start

To complete this process, there are just two prerequisites:

  1. You need the XRM Toolbox with the Advanced Chart Editor component installed.
  2. You must have security permissions to create and edit charts in your Customer Engagement environment

For this blog, we will use the example of renaming an Axis Label. We will modify the "Top Customers" Opportunity chart and change the X-axis label from "Sum (Est. Revenue) ($)" to "Total Estimated Revenue."
