In this session, we will dig deep into the ways Dynamics AX configuration and ongoing maintenance can positively impact your system performance. We will also explore the configuration, code management and deployment process using Team Foundation Server (TFS) and share some best practices you can incorporate into your infrastructure. Finally, we will review user security in your AX 2012 environment in terms of approach, methodology and configuration steps.

4:00 p.m. – Taking a New Approach to Dynamics AX 2012 Security, Technical Architect Catherine McDade

Did you know there is more than one way to configure security in Dynamics AX 2012? In this session, we will review the available set-up options. We'll teach you how you can use a Business Process Hierarchy or the Business Process Modeler (from LCS) and tools like Task Recorder to create security objects that match your business processes. Finally, we will show you how to use security objects to create security roles unique to your organization and reconfigure security in an existing implementation.

If you have never performed development in Dynamics AX 2012 but want to learn about the most basic, essential components of development in this environment, this session is for you. We will show you how to create a simple table, list form, menu item, and privilege as well as how to add a menu item.
