Stoneridge Software Hires President, Chief People Officer, Newell Takes on CEO Role

Stoneridge Software has enhanced its leadership team with the addition of Mike Gast as President and Briana Scearcy as Chief People Officer. Founder Eric Newell, who previously served as company president, will take on the role of CEO.

Mike Gast - President, Stoneridge SoftwarePrior to joining Stoneridge Software, Gast was employed at Microsoft where his 15-year career spanned a variety of roles from support team manager to premier field engineer team manager. Most recently he led their CRM support team of more than 130 team members across Fargo, Dallas, Mexico City and India. Gast has a bachelor’s degree in business & communications from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. As President and business integrator he is responsible for managing the financial performance of the company to ensure growth in a way that aligns with the future vision.

Briana Scearcy - Chief People Officer, Stoneridge SoftwareAs Chief People Officer, Scearcy leads the human resources, recruiting, readiness and team member advocacy initiatives. She spent more than three years as a recruiter and human resources advisor for Eide Bailly LLP in Fargo, N.D. in the technology consulting and specialty services divisions. Prior to Eide Bailly, Scearcy worked in human resources roles for RDO Equipment Co., Concordia College, and SEI. Scearcy holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. She is a certified Predictive Index Analyst and LinkedIn Certified Professional Recruiter.

Eric Newell - CEO, Stoneridge SoftwareSince founding the company in October 2012, Newell has led the Stoneridge Software organization through rapid growth in team members, clients, services and product offerings and consistently successful ERP and CRM implementations. As CEO he will continue the role of company visionary and manager of the sales and marketing team. Newell was named the Entrepreneur of the Year by the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo Chamber of Commerce in 2016. Prior to founding Stoneridge, Newell spent 13 years at Microsoft and Great Plains Software where he led the Premier Field Engineering practice for Dynamics AX across North America to growth rates of 50% each year during his time in the role. Newell graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota, Morris.
