Three Nonprofits Benefit from Stoneridge Gives 2016
The Stoneridge Gives, corporate gift initiative has awarded funds to three featured nonprofits in 2016, as chosen by employees! Donations totaling $4,300 were awarded to The Children's Tumor Foundation - Moorhead NF Walk, Loaves & Fishes in Minneapolis, MN and the American Cancer Society - Clay County Relay for Life. Throughout the year, each Stoneridge team member was able to donate $100 towards the charitable cause or organization of their choice in a Pay-It-Forward initiative. Organizations that received donations by November, 2016 were narrowed down to three, to be featured during the second part of the corporate giving campaign: Stoneridge Gives. Stoneridge Gives featured these nonprofits and a public voting campaign to assist in awarding final donations and promotion of the organizations.
Based on public voting the following donations were awarded:
The Children's Tumor Foundation - Moorhead NF Walk - $2,500: Since its formation, The Children’s Tumor Foundation has been crucial to the development of solid scientific data about the genetic disorder neurofibromatosis (NF). Their mission is to drive research, expand knowledge, and advance care for the NF community.
Loaves & Fishes - Minneapolis, MN - $1,100: Loaves and Fishes is a non-profit meal program in Minnesota that has been working to end hunger by providing free meals for those facing hunger. In 2016, w are projected to serve over half a million nutritious meals. More meals than ever before.
American Cancer Society - Clay County Relay for Life - $700: The American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest and most impactful fundraising event to end cancer. It unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all. With the support of thousands of volunteers like you, the American Cancer Society is helping save more than 500 lives a day.
